Gerardo J. Mercado es un poeta, escritor, y educador puertorriqueño.
Desde El Fondo De Un Espejo (Editorial Pulpo, 2024) es su primer libro de poesía y ha sido presentado en Puerto Rico y Colombia. Su obra incluye también cuentos y artículos publicados en varias antologías y revistas. Fue poeta invitado del XIV Festival Internacional de Poesía en Puerto Rico.
Gerardo pertenece al colectivo Peri-Plus donde recibió mentoría de Libby Flores. También es el coordinador de La Cuerda Roja, un club de poesía mensual en Arecibo, Puerto Rico, donde se ofrecen talleres y diálogos totalmente libre de costo.
Gerardo tiene un Bachillerato en matemática pura y física teórica, vive en Puerto Rico y trabaja como maestro de matemáticas.

Desde El Fondo De Un Espejo (Editorial Pulpo, 2024) is his first poetry book and it’s been presented in Puerto Rico and Colombia. His work includes short stories and articles published in various anthologies and magazines. He was a guest poet in the XIV International Poetry Festival in Puerto Rico.
Gerardo is part of the national writers collective Peri-Plus and was mentored by Libby Flores. He’s also the coordinator of La Cuerda Roja, a monthly poetry club in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, which offers workshops and meetings, all free of charge.
Gerardo has a Bachelor’s degree in pure mathematics and theoretical physics, he lives in Puerto Rico and works as a math teacher.
